The Art of Serigraphy
So yesterday I got an awesome B-Day present: a screen printer! While watching the DVD on how to use it I got to thinking about the art form (and the thousands of projects I want to do with it)...
Based on the Japanese art of Katazome and more commonly referred to as screen printing, Serigraphy has come a long way since the days of ancient Japan. In the 1900s it was patented in England and its first commercial use came in 1914 by John Pilsworth in the United States.
Screen printing reached new heights in popularity during the First World War because of its ability to print multi-layered images on items such as flags and patriotic banners several times.

Today screen prints are everywhere... on t-shirts, bags, accessories, you name it. Below are a few of my favs on Etsy right now.
Keep the Faith Print - Black and Red Eye
Cupcake Bib - Apericots
Buddha Tote - Vonderberry
With any luck, in the next few weeks you'll see a few of my screen print designs up for sale in the shop...

Hello World!
Today I turn 27 years old. I've never been a resolutions person, but as I officially enter into my late 20s, I've decided to make a list... not of resolutions so much as aspirations. A list of all the things I've wanted to do or focus on, and have never given myself the chance.
In this blog, I'll share with you the my journey as I explore the world to find my passions and create beauty around me. Wish me luck!
"Act the way you'd like to be, and soon you'll be the way you act."
- Bob Dylan
My List:
Find an exercise routine I can stick with
Practice Buddhism
Live a more sustainable life
Travel abroad
Start a garden
Volunteer for a cause I really believe in
Get a degree in something I love
Start composting
Open an Etsy shop
Live more creatively
Learn millinery
Bake something at least once a week
Fear failure less
Love more
